We fulfill our mission by our worship, our witness and our service to the people of the parish as well as to those in the wider community. Our task is to affirm the individual gifts of people of all ages in order to minister the Gospel in solidarity with people of good will. Transition Weekend July 30-31, 2022 Fr. James Vacco, ofm Fr. Michael Reyes, ofm This weekend ends my 11 years as pastor of St. Bonaventure Parish and the beginning of the pastoral care of the parish by Fr. Michael. To Fr. Michael I say:Take care of the people entrusted to you. Get to know them, become a part of the community they now open to you, and above all, as you share the love of Christ and the Franciscan spirit, embrace them with an admiration and respect for their struggles, their longings, their abilities, and their history. If you start from this platform you will come to cherish them and the faith they share with you.” To the people of this parish and this community, modifying the closing words Carol Burnett sang at the conclusion of each of her TV shows, I say: I’m so glad we had this time together, just to have a laugh and praise the Lord.
